Attachment theory began with the work of John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth, and was applied to adult relationships by Cindy Hazan and Phillip Shaver and later by Kim Bartholomew. This quiz is an independent, informal reflection tool built on those ideas. It is not a clinical assessment.

How the attachment style test is scored
Your answers are placed on two scales. One runs from "Calm about closeness" to "Anxious about closeness", the other One runs from "Comfortable with closeness" to "Uncomfortable with closeness". Where you land on both decides your result.
